Tracy Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Tracy ("Tracy", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the Tracy media player application and its supported integrations.
Tracy is a media player for Apple platforms, including iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac. Tracy allows users to play and manage their personal media from local storage, network sources, and supported cloud storage services.
1. Information We Collect
Tracy is designed to minimize the information it collects. The information processed by Tracy depends on the features you choose to use.
1.1 Media Files
When you play or browse media files using Tracy, the application may access the media files and related metadata required to provide playback and media management functionality.
Media files may come from local storage, network sources, or cloud storage services that you explicitly connect to Tracy.
Tracy does not claim ownership of your media files and does not use your media files for advertising or unrelated purposes.
1.2 Google Account and Google Drive
Tracy provides an optional Google Drive integration. If you choose to connect your Google account, Tracy may request permission to access Google Drive data necessary to provide the Google Drive functionality.
Depending on the permissions granted by you and the functionality you use, this may include information such as your Google account authentication information and information about files and folders in your Google Drive.
Tracy accesses Google Drive data only after you explicitly authorize the application through Google's authentication system.
2. How We Use Google User Data
Google user data is used only to provide the functionality requested by you.
In particular, Tracy may use Google Drive data to:
- Authenticate your Google account.
- Display files and folders from your Google Drive.
- Allow you to select media files stored in Google Drive.
- Access selected media files so that Tracy can provide playback functionality.
- Maintain the Google Drive connection required for these features.
Tracy does not use Google user data for advertising, behavioral profiling, or unrelated purposes.
3. Google User Data Sharing
Tracy does not sell, rent, or trade Google user data.
Tracy does not share Google user data with third parties for their own advertising, marketing, profiling, or other independent purposes.
Google user data is processed only as necessary to provide the functionality requested by the user, comply with applicable law, or protect the security and integrity of the service.
4. Google User Data Storage
Authentication credentials and OAuth tokens may be stored on your Apple device when necessary to maintain your authenticated connection to Google services.
Tracy uses the operating system's available secure storage mechanisms for sensitive authentication information where applicable.
Tracy does not intentionally store copies of your Google Drive media files on our servers solely for the purpose of providing Google Drive playback.
The actual storage and caching behavior of media data may also depend on the operating system, network protocols, and storage providers used by the user.
5. Google Drive Permissions
Tracy requests only the Google permissions necessary for the Google Drive functionality that you choose to use.
You can review the permissions requested by Tracy during Google's authorization process.
You may revoke Tracy's access to your Google account at any time through your Google Account security settings.
After access has been revoked, Tracy will no longer be able to use the revoked Google permissions to access your Google Drive account.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Tracy does not require you to create an account with Tracy in order to use the application's basic media playback functionality.
Information stored locally by Tracy, including authentication credentials, application settings, cached information, and media metadata, can generally be removed by deleting the relevant data from the application or uninstalling Tracy, subject to the behavior of the Apple operating system.
If you disconnect your Google account from Tracy, the application will stop using the associated Google authentication credentials for future Google Drive requests.
Removing Tracy from your device does not delete files from your Google Drive. Files stored in Google Drive remain under your control and can be managed through Google Drive.
7. Information We Do Not Sell
We do not sell personal information or Google user data.
We do not use Google user data for targeted advertising or allow advertisers to use Google user data obtained through Tracy.
8. Third-Party Services
Tracy may communicate with third-party services when you explicitly use features that require those services.
8.1 Google
Google services are used to provide Google account authentication and Google Drive functionality.
Google's handling of information is governed by Google's own privacy policies and terms.
8.2 Apple
Tracy runs on Apple platforms and may use Apple-provided system frameworks and services required for application functionality.
Apple's handling of information is governed by Apple's own privacy policies and terms.
9. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information processed by Tracy. Sensitive authentication information is handled using security mechanisms provided by the Apple operating system where applicable.
However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
10. Children's Privacy
Tracy is not specifically directed to children under the age required by applicable law to provide independent consent to data processing.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
11. AI and Non-Consensual Intimate Imagery
Tracy is a media player application and its Google API integration is intended to provide access to the user's own Google Drive files.
Tracy does not use Google APIs to generate, create, distribute, or facilitate non-consensual intimate imagery, including AI-generated non-consensual intimate imagery.
